About Me
Hi! I'm Odyssey and I live in San Luis Obispo (SLO), CA with my husband, daughter, and son. We recently moved from Los Angeles, and are settling into a new town and new pace of life. I have been wanting to start a blog for about a year now, but it seemed like we were always racing around, just able to accomplish the bare minimum. This didn't leave much time for creativity. The move has already afforded more creative thought and action in the last month, than I have had in years. Every day I'm excited and inspired. Having the time to think and be in the moment has been a treat.
I grew up dancing, signing, and painting. Blogging feels like a natural extension to scratch that creative itch. Although now my interests have expanded to include fashion, food, family, kids, and adventure.
A very long time ago, I studied and received my BA in Art History. This lead to a position in fine arts at an auction house. Later, I discovered that my love of art was stronger than my love of the art world. I was motivated to find a creative job in a stable, unemotional environment. I soon began my career in marketing at an engineering firm, where I met my husband. It was the best decision of my life.
My husband, Tony, has always been an impressive mix of brains and unbound artistry. He can do just about anything. I have never met anyone like him. He is an engineer by day and a chef, baker, furniture maker by night. He is the reason I can cook. I would also say he is the reason I can bake, but I'm in the early relationship phase with baking. It's much more exact than I am. He impresses my every day with his ability, commitment, and unwavering love. Plus, he helped make Harper and Otto. For this, I will always love him.
