We have a large amount of knick knacks. To me, it makes me feel like the place is ours. Like our house reflects who we are all at once...Boom! Here we are! Tony is more simplistic. I like to pack it in. So, we meet somewhere in the middle.
Yes, this is the middle.
My Grams doesn't have one thing on the counter and it looks so clean and fresh. I tried that, but it didn't work for me. My friends Rocky and Andy are the same. They even have an actual color scheme - gray, white, and dark gray. I guess, we do too if you consider all the colors of the rainbow a color scheme.
Speaking of, how do you buy a rug for a house that has patterns and colors galore? We are in the midst of trying to figure that one out.
But, I digress. The issue at hand was we have all of these wonderful items we have collected, been gifted, found in our travels, but no where to house them. Oh, and don't forget the books. We have them everywhere. Real books and we aren't getting rid of them.
The space we have to work with is a bit awkward, which made the decision to make versus buy shelving easy. Buying 2x4's, cutting, staining, and mounting was what we had in store. It took a couple of days, but I think the final outcome looks pretty good! Plus, it holds all the things.
